Materials I Use

On this page I tried to list down all the materials, items and products that I use for my art and future shop production.You of course don't have to get all these products to be able to draw, print or bind books. There might be alternatives out there that fit you better. These are simply the products I use.We in the artist community don't gate keep!

for my Digital Art

Ipad Air M2 13'' (2024)
Recently I upgraded my old 2018 Ipad Pro to the new Ipad Air M2. I am super happy with it so far! I bought it refurbished, that was the best choice for me personally.

Apple Pencil Pro
After using the apple pencil first gen for years I finally upgraded on the Apple Pencil Pro.

Procreate
I've been using Procreate, as my drawing software of choice and favorite one, for the last 6 years.
(before I used Krita, Firealpaca and Autodesk Sketchbook)

for Prints

Canon PIXMA Pro-200
This printer can print up to A3+ and up to 300g thick paper/carton. This printer is awesome for prints or stickers and other printing products.

DOUBLE D CLI-65 Multipack for Canon PIXMA PRO-200
These are not the original printer cartridges from canon but these are the best quality cartridges I cxould find which aren't too expensive for me. They work really well for me and my printer.

Canon Photo Paper Pro (Premium Matte)
I usually try to use this specific paper from canon, it's very high quality and has a great thickness and texture to it. I don't like shiny photo paper personally so I try to use matte one. You can buy it in different formats and thicknesses. The paper is egg shell white.
(I usually buy A4 and A3)

Color Copy Paper
Color Copy has a lot of different formats and thickness in papers for inkjet printers too! It's the budget version. It's still good paper but some details of the illustrations get lost in printing. Still very good paper though! The paper is very light white.

for Book Binding

Manual Lever Paper Cutter
These manual lever cutters are great for simple cutting tasks. Make sure you get one that has a grid and some paper formats on it so you can measure your cuts directly on the cutter machine.

Manual Saddle Stapler
'This type of simple manual saddle stapler comes in handy when you want to staple little booklets together. It can usually bind a book with up to 40-60 pages. It makes book binding so easy. It's the easiest binding method for booklets and smaller books in my opinion.

Koala Double-Sided Matte Photo Paper
This is specifically the paper that I use for my books, since they are double-sided printable. Make sure that the paper you use can be printed on both sides. Some photo papers are only printable on one side.

Rounded Corner Punch
I like my books (sometimes even prints) with nicely rounded corners. So I like to use a little corner punch on my products.

for Stickers

Cricut Maker 3
This machine is amazing! It's my favourite smart tech that I use in my work flows. It's a great cutting machine for stickers and other products that you have to form cut.

Cricut Standard Grip Mat
To be able to use the very useful and almost neccesary smart-functions from cricut and also cut products/paper that are not directly designed by cricut, you need those mats. I mostly use the green standard grip mat.

Cricut Deep Cutting Blade
The Cricut Maker 3 can cut up to 3mm wooden plates, so thick paper carton is easily cuttable with an extra deep cutting blade.

Cricut Design Space
The Cricut Design Space is the software I use to layout and get my stickers and other products ready to cut and print with the "print to cut" smart-function.

PPD Inkjet Self Adhesive Paper
This is usually the sticker paper that I use for my stickers. It's glossy and shows great details of the illustrations. I am still searching for a good matte sticker paper, but for glossy stickers this is the one I go for.

Manufactures

Wooacry
Wooacry is an amazing online manufacture based in China. They have a bunch of different products that you can get manufactured from them. So far I only made key chains and standees with them. Those were insanely high quality and I am super happy with their prices and products. They have a great layout and editing section where you upload your designs and instantly see a mock-up of how your design will look like on the product. The only negative side is that they are based in china and shipping takes long.
